Doulas of Douglas County is a collective of community-based Doulas located in Lawrence, KS. We believe that anyone who wants a doula should have access to one without cost as a barrier. As a collective, we primarily focus on providing holistic and culturally-affirming care to birthing bodies in our community.
WHAT WE DO
We aim to support, empower, and provide quality resources to our community. You deserve to feel respected and be well-informed, no matter what stage of the reproductive journey you are in. In addition to birth doula and postpartum doula services, Doulas of Douglas County offers childbirth education, peer support, and playgroups. Read more about what we do below.
Doulas are trained professionals that provide physical and emotional support to birthing people and their partners during pregnancy, labor/delivery, and the postpartum period. Regardless of where or how you plan to deliver, you deserve to be completely informed and well-respected.
From support groups to one-on-one counseling, we are here to support your breastfeeding journey. Doulas of Douglas County aims to provide consistent, evidence-based advice and support that leads to continued breastfeeding.
PARENT & CHILD PLAYGROUPS
Our playgroups are a relaxed environment for parents and caregivers to gather with their young children. We meet at various locations in the community and invite families to participate in activities like indoor/outdoor play, crafts and story time.
