About Me

Traci Dotson

I’m a proud Lawrence townie and KU alum. Beyond work, I enjoy spending time with my two children, cooking, and crafting. Professionally, I am a licensed social worker, trained doula, and breastfeeding peer counselor. While I found myself drawn to doula work after the birth of my oldest child, I never could have imagined what Doulas of Douglas County would become.

I believe all women deserve to experience birth without fear and to be wrapped in resources, support and love while in their transition to motherhood. My greatest aspiration is to create a nurturing environment for Black women to embrace vulnerability and enjoy the beauty of pregnancy and motherhood. My vision for Doulas of Douglas County is to be a sanctuary for Black and Brown Mothers in our community to learn, grow, connect and be uplifted.
